Open to all skill levels, this immersive experience uses textiles as a medium for memory, identity, and expression, inviting students to consider how materials and marks can hold pieces of lived experience.
Workshop Overview
This fiber-based workshop encourages both creative experimentation and meaningful reflection, asking participants to consider: What parts of ourselves have we forgotten, and how can we reclaim them through making?
Students will work with a variety of materials and techniques, including:
- Fabric and thread work
- Yarn-based construction
- Embroidery and stitching techniques
- Quilting methods
- Screen printing applications
- Painting on textiles
- Cyanotype printing
Through these layered approaches, participants will build visually rich works that explore themes of resilience, self-love, memory, and healing.
A Storytelling and Healing Practice
This workshop is designed as both a creative and reflective space, encouraging personal exploration alongside shared conversation and connection. Students will be invited to engage with their own stories while also recognizing the collective experience of healing through making.
By the end of the course, participants will leave with textile-based artworks that weave together fragments of memory, identity, and expression into powerful visual narratives.
