Skill Level: Open to All Skill Levels
Focus Areas: Metals, Jewelry
Course Fee: $760.00

Discover the art and movement of handcrafted jewelry in Chain Dynamics, an immersive workshop focused on creating original chain wearables using copper, brass, and sterling silver.

Open to all skill levels, this hands-on course introduces students to the creative possibilities of chain making while building confidence in essential metalworking techniques. Though rooted in foundational skills, chain construction offers endless opportunities for artistic expression, allowing the chain itself to become a complete and striking wearable design.

Workshop Overview

Students will begin with demonstrations covering the core techniques needed for successful chain fabrication, including:

  • Annealing
  • Wire forming
  • Silver soldering
  • Surface texturing
  • Basic wire forging

After practicing these fundamentals, participants will be encouraged to experiment with a variety of wire shapes and construction methods to create dynamic and original chain compositions.

Special emphasis will be placed on incorporating three-dimensional elements and exploring movement, structure, and visual rhythm within each design.

A Creative Jewelry-Making Experience

Throughout the workshop, students will develop both technical skills and personal design approaches while working with a range of metals and forms. The supportive studio environment encourages experimentation, creativity, and exploration for beginners and experienced makers alike.

By the end of the course, each participant will leave with several finished wearable chain pieces and a strong foundation in chain-making techniques that can inspire future jewelry projects.
