Walters State Community College
Walters State is a learning centered, comprehensive community college established in 1970 to provide affordable higher education opportunities for the residents of East Tennessee. The Walters State Sevier County Campus includes three buildings: Maples-Marshall Hall, Cates-Cutshall Hall, and the Connor-Short Center. In addition to university parallel programs and signature programs in culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management, the college recently expanded its health programs offerings to the Sevier County Campus by the implementation of the full RN Nursing program and, beginning Fall 2014, Surgical Technology. The local campus has an enrollment of over 1200 credit students and also hosts a non-credit program. The college plays host to several cultural events throughout the year and welcomes the community to be a part of the campus.
