Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with three days of patriotic entertainment, family-friendly activities, and spectacular light shows at The Island in Pigeon Forge. From July 3–5, 2026, guests are invited to enjoy a festive Independence Day weekend filled with free attractions, live music, and unforgettable experiences.
One of the celebration’s biggest highlights is the debut of Freedom in Motion, a brand-new patriotic light show on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. Featuring dynamic LED displays, patriotic imagery, and dazzling animations, this nighttime spectacle is the centerpiece of the holiday weekend.
Throughout each day, visitors can also enjoy the Spirit of America fountain show, where the Island Show Fountain comes alive with choreographed water, lights, and patriotic music. Families can cool off while taking in performances set to classic American favorites.
In addition to the light and fountain shows, guests can enjoy a variety of complimentary activities throughout the weekend, including patriotic crafts for children, a special USA 250 photo backdrop, live music on the Ole Smoky stage each evening, and limited-edition commemorative merchandise available throughout The Island.
