Things To See, Do, and Explore this Memorial Day Weekend
1. Tanger Outlets
You can catch some awesome savings from the Tanger Outlets in Sevierville this Memorial Day weekend. From Friday, May 25th to Monday, May 28th. View special savings and discount offers from your favorite brands and outlet stores by visiting TANGER DEALS. You can also download the Tanger App on your iPhone or Android smartphone for additional offers!
Also don’t forget all the Memorial Day Sales that will be going on at the many shops located in the outlet. You can get a look at all of the sales here.
2. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
The aquarium is always an awesome family destination, but two things make it perfect for Memorial Day weekend. Ripley’s newest exhibit, Shipwrecks, has officially opened and I got to experience it first- hand! This exhibit is fascinating and educational for everyone in the family. Discover real wreck reenactments, treasures, and learn about shipwrecks from hundreds of years ago as well as forgotten ships! Take a look into the replica of Chuuk Lagoon and see what treasures lie inside and don’t forget to say hey to President Abraham Lincoln, yep he’s there!
3. Dinner Shows
Dinner shows are must see while in Pigeon Forge. Enjoy world- class entertainment while feating over delicious hand crafted meals! Whether you prefer animals, dancing, singing, or acting, there is a dinner show that’s perfect for you and your family! Here’s a few of my favorites:
- Dolly Parton’s Stampede
- Dolly Parton’s Spectacular Dinner Show at Smoky Mountain Adventures
- Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud
- Murder Mystery Dinner Show
- Biblical Times Theater
4. Live Music at The Island
Ole Smoky Distillery has announced their 2018 entertainment series, Summer of ‘Shine. This year, the leading moonshine company, in partnership with Moonstruck Management, is expanding their genre of musical acts by bringing in some rock and country artists to their mix of talented bluegrass bands. Be sure to head out to The Island this Memorial Day weekend for free concerts and good time! Click the link below for performance details!
5. White Water Rafting
Memorial Day marks the wholehearted start of white water rafting season! If you’ve never gone white water rafting, now’s the time! There’s a reason the pigeon River was ranked as the #3 destination in the United States by the american Outdoor Association (AOA)- with a lower trip for families and children and the thrilling class IV excitement of the upper trip, the Pigeon River appeals to anyone looking for an outdoor adventure.
As a dam- controlled river, the Pigeon River has guaranteed water flow with class III and IV water flows released on a schedule every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Now’s the time to start planning your white water rafting trip
6. Where To Eat
Of course there’s hundreds of places to eat in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville, but who doesn’t love a fun cookout over Memorial Day weekend? It may be difficult to fire up the grill at your hotel, condo, or cabin, but we’ve got a few alternatives for you. BBQ is a staple item for any cookout so here’s a few recommendations: Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que and Buddy’s Bar-B-Q will help you kick off your Memorial Day Weekend the right way!
