The state of Tennessee’s annual sales tax holiday is held every year, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July and ending at 11:59 p.m. the following Sunday night. This year, The 2021 Tax free weekend in Tennessee begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 30 and ends Sunday, August 1 at 11:59 p.m.
During this weekend, certain goods may be purchased tax free. Over this special holiday weekend, computers, laptops, etc. with a price of $1,500 or less, and clothing apparel and school supplies with a price of $100 or less per item, are exempt from state sales tax! It might not sound like much, but buying during Tax-Free Weekend can save you a lot of money.
Additional Tax-Free Events
The second tax-free holiday will exempt food, food ingredients, and prepared food from sales tax. This special event begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
