Historic Moment: Two Sevier County Teams Compete for State Titles This Friday

Sevier County is gearing up for an unforgettable week as both Sevier County High School and Gatlinburg-Pittman High School punch their tickets to the state football championship in Chattanooga. This rare and exciting moment has filled the community with pride, and Sevier County Schools has announced several updates to help families, students, and supporters join in the celebrations.
No School on December 5 to Support Teams at State
To allow as many families as possible to travel and cheer on the teams, Sevier County Schools is exchanging an administrative day for this Friday, December 5.
There will be no school on December 5, and the instructional day will be made up on May 28.
This schedule change also helps the district manage staffing shortages and transportation challenges associated with having two high schools and their feeder schools traveling simultaneously. The district emphasized that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity they hope families can enjoy together.
