There’s still time to experience the beauty of the Smokies this season! Smokies Life continues its popular Branch Out series this November and early December with guided hikes, birding adventures, and creative workshops designed to help participants connect with the incredible natural and cultural heritage of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Led by knowledgeable naturalists and guides, each event offers a fun and educational way to explore the outdoors.

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • Little Greenbrier Naturalist RambleWednesday, November 5
    Discover the natural and cultural history of the Little Greenbrier area on a guided, light-impact hike in Wears Valley.
  • The Art of Nature JournalingMonday, November 10 (Online)
    Learn the basics of nature journaling, practice observational drawing, and explore creative ways to deepen your awareness of the natural world.
  • Sparrow Identification & Secret Life of SparrowsNovember 11 & 18
    Join an online learning session to identify local sparrow species, then take your new skills into the field with a guided birding adventure in Cades Cove.
  • Regal Raptors and OwlsSunday, November 30
    Spend a day in the park learning to spot and identify raptors — and enjoy an evening of “owl-ology” under the Smoky Mountain sky.
  • Quiet Time in the SmokiesWednesday, December 3
    Wrap up the season with a peaceful guided hike through Townsend Wye, exploring winter plant life, wildlife, and tracks.

Participation in Branch Out events requires a Smokies Life membership, with annual memberships starting at $40. Event registration fees help support programs that protect and preserve the park for future generations.
