Dolly Parton Will Bring Pirates To Pigeon Forge In 2019.
Parton announced that she will open her second Pirates Voyage dinner attraction in Pigeon Forge in Spring 2019. The show will be replacing the current Dolly Parton dinner show, Celebration!
“The show has been so successful in Myrtle Beach that we kept looking at Pigeon Forge and wondering why we didn’t already have a Pirates show there,” Parton said in the release. “We have the perfect location, in one of the hottest areas of Pigeon Forge, and the time is now for my pirates to stake claim to the Great Smoky Mountains!”
Pirates Voyage location will feature a 21,000-square-foot arena with a stage “for Crimson and Sapphire pirates to battle on deck, in the water and in the sky above their full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon,” the release said.
Additionally, the show will include acrobatic competitions, special effects, live animals, an original music score by Parton and Mark Brymer. Also, we can’t forget about the four-course pirate feast! Devour the creamy vegetable soup, savory chicken, and all the fixings to fill a pirate! The show will be located adjacent to The Island in Pigeon Forge. Site construction is scheduled for early January, and more details will be released soon.

In addition to the new Pirates Voyage location, Dollywood’s $37 million expansion, Wildwood Grove, is coming in 2019. Parton announced the expansion in August, and it will be the park’s largest add-on in its 33-year history.
