A Museum for the Mind

WonderWorks

It’s one of the most eye-catching sights on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge, especially for first-time visitors. Imagine driving along and seeing a huge marble building resting upside-down on top of another building, as if it had just fallen from the skies. Consider that your first lesson when it comes to the WonderWorks attraction not everything is what it appears to be.

The illusion, in fact, is just a facade at this interactive museum for the mind, where the real-life wonders of the natural world unfold in a unique hands-on experience. In fact, more than 100 exhibits await exploration as guests move from room to room, each of which showcases a different theme.

In the Disaster Zone, for example, simulators help you experience a 5.3-magnitude earthquake, or you can go head to head with hurricane-force winds. In the Space Zone, you can try your hand at landing a space shuttle orbiter or flying a fighter jet. In the Lights and Sound room, you ll learn the science behind a variety of visual effects, or you can play a giant keyboard with your feet.

Other highlights include the Illusion Gallery where some of the worlds most unique art pieces are more than meets, a laser tag area and a large video arcade. WonderWorks is also home to the Wonders of Magic show starting acclaimed illusionist Terry Evanswood.
