Discover one of the Smokies’ most fascinating residents during Sensational Salamanders, a Branch Out event hosted by Smokies Life.
Participants will explore various locations throughout Great Smoky Mountains National Park in search of salamanders and other amphibians. Along the way, you’ll learn how to identify different species and discover more about their habitats, diets and important role in the Smokies ecosystem.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is home to an incredible diversity of salamanders, making it an ideal place to get an up-close look at these unique amphibians and learn why they are such an important part of the park’s natural environment.
Whether you’re an experienced nature enthusiast or simply curious about the wildlife found in the Smokies, this educational experience offers a fun way to explore the park and deepen your appreciation for its incredible biodiversity.

Cost: $45 for current Smokies Life Park Keepers
Membership in Smokies Life is required to attend Branch Out events. If you are not already a member, you can join and attend for $85, which includes a $40 basic Park Keeper membership and the $45 event registration fee.
Participation fees help cover the costs of planning and hosting Branch Out programs, while additional revenue supports projects and services benefiting Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
