8 Ways To Save Money in Pigeon Forge

save money in pigeon forgeIt’s time to start planning your vacation to Pigeon Forge. The first thing we all do is ask ourselves “What is our budget for vacation?” Whether you’re on a tight budget or if you’re free to spend a bit more, we’re all looking for ways to save money! The more you save on vacation, the happier you’ll be when those credit card bills arrive a month later.

1.Coupons

Just like when you’re shopping, coupons can really add up fast. You can stop by the Welcome Center or, even the Chamber of Commerce for great coupons that will really save you a lot of money. If you’d like to have the coupons in-hand, you can go online to PigeonForgeChamber.com and you’ll find several money saving coupons, and you can even request a FREE Visitor’s Guide to Pigeon Forge which will tell you all the best places to visit and of course, COUPONS!

2. Rent a Cabin

By renting a cabin, you can get everyone under one roof and not worry about having multiple hotel rooms for everyone in your party. Some cabins can comfortably sleep 20 people or more! Also, with a cabin, you’ll have a full kitchen, which means you can save a lot of money by cooking some meals at the cabin. It’s much cheaper to swing by the grocery store and pick up a few things and cook them yourself.

3. Plan Your Trip For the Off Season

Sure, you may want to plan your vacation for when the kids are on summer break, but you can really save A LOT of money by planning your vacation in the off-season. Prices on everything from attractions, hotels, cabins and even airfare (if you’re flying to the area) are much cheaper. Some cabins and hotels even offer free nights with your reservations during these times. The offseason runs November- April. Obviously, holiday weekends are going to be very busy.

4. Save on Food

If you decide you want to stay in a hotel, take advantage of the free continental breakfast. Even a biscuit and drink from a fast food restaurant can cost $5 per person. Why spend close to $20 for a family of 4, if you can eat breakfast for free? Odds are, the free breakfast will be MUCH better than the biscuit you just bought. We’ve got breakfast covered, now lunch. Stop by the grocery store on your way in town and pick up a loaf of bread, some fruit, lunch meat and chips and you’ll have lunch covered everyday! Just make your meals, toss them in a cooler and save even more!

5. Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Visiting the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a great way to save money, because it’s FREE and we all love free things to do. The National Park has several hiking trails, waterfalls, wildlife and incredible views! You can also take a day trip to Cades Cove and experience beautiful views and a great picnic! A trip to the National Park is a great way to “disconnect” and get away for a great family trip.
