Halloween is just around the corner and you may be thinking of the perfect family costume or even something a little spooky! While planning the right look, be sure to plan the best place to be. You may be surprised to know that there’s some great things to do for Halloween in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Whether you’re looking for family friendly activities or looking to get a good scare, The Smokies have it all! Here are a list of things to do this Halloween here in the Great Smoky Mountains!

 

Halloween at The Island  

Where: The Island in Pigeon Forge 

The Island is hosting a FREE Halloween event formal families to enjoy on October 31st! Enjoy trick-or-treating, photo ops, and festivities through The Island grounds from 5:00- 8:00 pm. Don’t forget your costume! Every guest in costume will be able to purchase a 48-hour unlimited rides pass for only $5! Stay after for the dazzling fountain display and take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel.

 

Spooktacular Halloween Event

Where: Pigeon Forge Community Center

This an annual Halloween tradition is a must for all families! It’s a non- scary and family friendly event for kids to go trick or treating. Local businesses will be in attendance and decorated for halloween with fun displays. The businesses in attendance will also be handing out candy for all trick or treaters. In addition to all the candy, your family can enjoy a costume contest, hayrides, and even a haunted maze! Be sure to head out to the Pigeon Forge Community Center on Thursday, October 24th, 2019.

 

Anakeesta’s Hallow Mountain

Where: Anakeesta

Anakeesta takes Halloween scare to the next level from September 13th – November 2nd! Dare to stay after dark when the undead rise, seeking their way off of Hallow Mountain. Additionally, you can find your level of fear in one of the scare zones or take in a black and white classic movie on the outdoor screen at the Overlook Beer Garden!  Be sure to also add on a ticket for Zombie Ziplining and immerse yourself in the forest nightlife!

Kick- Off Karnival 

Where: Ripley’s Aquarium of The Smokies 

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is hosting a Halloween kickoff event on October 31st from 1 pm- 5 pm. You can expect costume contests, games, face painting and so much more! Be sure to join the fun in Gatlinburg while loading up on candy and a presentation on trick or treat safety and fire safety from the Fire Department! 

 

Halloween at Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud

Where: Lumberjack Square

Head out to Lumberjack Square for a a night full of family friendly fun on October 31st from 4pm- 6pm. Merchants of Lumberjack Square invite you for a safe and friendly environment for trick or treating. Kids can enjoy free candy, fun events, and a free ticket to the show when they wear their costume! The show that night will be at 7 pm so you can watch world class lumberjack compete in daring events!

 

Outbreak Dread The Undead in Pigeon Forge

Where: Hollywood Wax Museum 

This new exhibit is a must see during the halloween season! As part of the force meant to stop a worldwide outbreak, you’ll make your way through the ransacked lab, ruined morgue, and rotting basement to assure the undead are contained. Now, the building is on lockdown and the only way out is through an emergency exit! Along the way, the sights, sounds, smells, and real live scares will keep you on your toes. It’s a thrill-a-second as you avoid being infected by the undead or exposed to the remaining aerosol doses of Alpha Strain. Contain your fear? No way! Also, for an extra tingle to your spine, check out the Tale of the Cellar! Find out what spirits are among the zombies! 

 

Ripley’s Fright Nights

Where: Ripley’s Haunted Adventure 

Come out for the 20th annual Fright Nights event all October long. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday you can enjoy the frightening good time at Ripley’s Haunted Adventure. Additionally, you can pay regular admission price for new themes and ghouls hidden inside the haunted house! Shows start at 6 pm with a character parade to kick off the night. Fright Nights is an attraction geared towards children 12 and older, and all attendees must be at least 6 years of age to enter the haunted house. Can you handle this haunted adventure?

 

Rocky Top Mountain Coaster Fright Nights 

Where: Rocky Top Mountain Coaster

Head to Rocky Top Mountain Coaster for their spooky new annual event! Beginning October 11th- November 3rd you can twist and turn through the spookiest mountain coaster in the Smokies. Sitting on over 20 acres of beautiful Smoky Mountain scenery, this coaster features plenty of tunnels, curves, and 360 degree turns. Reaching speeds of up to 30 mph, this attraction is projected to set records as the longest coaster in East Tennessee.

 

 

Great Pumpkin LumiNights

Where: Dollywood

Of course, we couldn’t forget about this one! Witness thousands of pumpkins fill the park for Dollywood’s popular event, The Great Pumpkin LumiNights! Meet friendly characters, learn how to carve the perfect pumpkin, and also enjoy glow in the dark face painting from the friendly faces at Dollywood. Family friendly pumpkins and scenes will fill Timber Canyon for the beloved festival. The Great Pumpkin LumiNights will go from September 28th through November 3rd every night! No only will you find fall inspired treats, but also photo opportunities, and characters. Additionally, you can experience the fall decorations, pumpkins, delicious foods, and of course, the thrilling rides at Dollywood!

 

Mysterious Mansion Haunted House

Where: Gatlinburg’s Mysterious Mansion

Get ready for a new show this season! This famous haunted house is ready for endless scares, screams, and suspense! This unguided tour through the house allows you and some friends to explore down corridors, winding staircases, and also creepy chambers. If you dare to enter, prepare to experience horror for what lives within! This years theme is Witchcraft! “You have been summoned to the gathering. Only your presence may release the curse.” Halloween tours take place each weekend night during October. Happy Hauntings!

 

Sevier County Sheriff’s Office 4th Annual Spooktacular Block Party

Where: Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (Downtown Sevierville)

Lastly, this Halloween, The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is back to offer a free and safe environment for the youth of Sevier County to spend their Halloween! This year’s Spooktacular Block Party will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 5:30pm-8:30pm in Downtown Sevierville. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to trick or treat with local fire, police, EMS, and other government agencies that work within Sevier County!
