“The Chuck Wagon Cookoff celebrates an important piece of American history and highlights a couple things the people of Pigeon Forge know very well, delicious food and entertainment” said Pigeon Forge Executive Director of Tourism Leon Downey. “While the chuck wagon cooking never disappoints, the interactive elements of the weekend make it an event that our visitors and residents look forward to each year.” Seven teams circle wagons at Clabough’s Campground for a day of frontier-inspired fun. These modern-day mobile chuck wagon cooks rely on simple ingredients to guide their menus and fire to power their ovens just as the early American chuck wagons did in the 1800s.
